Lizzie

Center / Striker

Lizzie has been playing power soccer for the Hot Shots for 9 years! She is 17 years old, and lives with her family near New Palestine. Lizzie has a genetic disorder that causes her to have increased muscle fatigue and weakness, and uses a power wheelchair to increase her ability to access the world and its many experiences.

Lizzie hopes one day soon to go to college and become a Child Life Specialist in a Hospital to help children understand and navigate the medical world.

When Lizzie joined the Hot Shots, she was extremely shy and spoke very little. Power soccer has given her a place to find confidence, camaraderie and competition. She is the center for the team and as the most experience player on the team now she runs and directs the play on the court. When asked what difference power soccer made in her life Lizzie said, “Power Soccer has made me feel more included than any other activity I have tried. I have made real lifelong friends. I believe I can do anything in this sport that I put my mind to without the limitations my disability normally puts on my life.”
